Most things are quicker to fix than to ask about, so the answers are first. If yours is not here, write to us. We read every message.
Frequently asked questions
Your meals
A food in my meal is wrong. Can I fix it?
Yes. Open the meal and tap Fix issue, then say what is wrong. AVO reads the meal again, and the numbers and the score follow the correction.
Do I have to weigh my food?
No. AVO works out each amount from the photo. If one looks off, you can change it.
What if I forget the photo?
Just say what you ate, in your own words. AVO logs it the same way. It works for a meal out, or for lunch hours later.
Subscription
How do I cancel?
In the store you subscribed through, not in AVO. On iPhone that is your App Store account settings; on Android it is Subscriptions in Google Play. You keep what you paid for until the period ends.
I already paid, but AVO is asking me to subscribe again.
Tap Restore at the top of the subscription screen. It asks the store what you already own and gives it back. That is the one to use on a new phone, or after reinstalling.
What does it cost, and can I cancel?
3 days free, then a subscription billed by your app store. The store shows the price before you subscribe. Cancel anytime from the store, and you keep access until the period ends.
Your account
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Account, then Delete account. It removes the meals you logged and their photos, your goals and your answers, and the account itself, on this phone and any other. It does not cancel your subscription, so cancel that in the store first.
Can I get a copy of my data?
Yes. Write to us and ask. We answer within one month and it costs nothing. The privacy policy lists everything you can ask for.
Scores and advice
Does AVO show calories?
Yes. Every meal shows its calories and macros, next to your daily goals. You also get vitamins and minerals, and a score out of 10.
How is the score made?
Four things go into it. Nourishment per calorie. How processed the food is. How fast it turns into sugar. How it affects swelling in your body. Every meal has a “How this is scored” button with the whole breakdown.
Is this medical advice?
No. AVO gives general nutrition information, not medical advice. Talk to your doctor before changing anything about your care.
